We do not deliver off the shelf courses with standard content. All of our training courses are designed specifically for our clients. We will meet with you and discuss your particular needs, agree objectives and content and then deliver the training programme when and where you want it.    Safety Workshop for Senior Management

This briefing focuses on the roles and responsibilities of senior management, their legal obligations and liabilities and explains how criminal prosecutions and civil actions could affect them and their organisation.   Supervisor/Manager's Safety Workshop

This workshop details the role and responsibilities of Supervisors and Managers of people within Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005 and General Applications Regulations 2007. It outlines the key steps necessary for effective health and safety management, risk management, importance of training, accident investigations, audits, essential ingredients of a safety culture plus case studies.   Stress Workshop for Management

This workshop defines stress, the causes of it and how to manage it. It details the legal position with regard to stress including "the Walker Case". It outlines how to manage issues such as effects of long hours, employee capability and the pressure to "do more with less".

  Safety Awareness for employees

This workshop provides participants with a basic knowledge of Health and Safety Law and its implications for them in their working environment. It covers employer and employee obligations under 2005 Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act. It includes specific information on classic accidents, why accidents occur, housekeeping, fire, operation of machinery, use of chemical substances, manual handling and operation of VDUs.

  Introduction to Ergonomics

What is ergonomics, how it is used, ergonomics and the law, costs of poor ergonomics, structure and function of the body, ergonomic assessment, VDUs, good workstation design, environmental issues, fatigue, stress , posture, chairs,. Case studies. Duration 4 hours.

  Postural Training

What is good posture, why is it important, value of it, chair adjustment, exercises, reporting discomfort, practical demonstration and exercises.
This is particularly relevant for VDU users in office environments.

Principles of fire/triangle of fire, prevention, fire audit checklist, detection, emergency arrangements, evacuation, fire fighting procedures, assembly outside, checking of employees, liaison with Fire Brigade and re-entry issues. Case studies. Duration 3 hours.

  Manual Handling Training

legal issues about Manual handling which come from EU Directive 90/269/EEC etc. - key principles, employer's duties, employees' responsibilities, functions of the skeleton, types of joints, anatomy of the spine, muscular system, types of back injury, prevention, ergonomics, risk assessment, load characteristics, principles of safe lifting, techniques for correct lifting, practical demonstration and practical exercises.   Accident Reporting/Investigation Procedures

Definitions of near misses, incidents, accidents, categories of injury, medical issues, reporting arrangements, investigation procedures, effective rehabilitation measures, no blame culture, reporting forms and case studies. Duration 3 hours. No. of delegates = 12. Cost on application.

  How to Develop a Safety Culture

What is safety culture, essential ingredients of a safety culture, key roles involved, involving employees, effective consultation, importance of training plus case studies. Duration 2 hours.
